Educational pathways
After graduating from school, there are various educational paths. You can enter the world of work directly through an apprenticeship or go to secondary school.
Today, it is no longer so important which career path you choose at the beginning. In Switzerland, all education and training leads to a degree. Each degree guarantees the continuation of further education.
As a result, you can shape your professional career individually and achieve your professional goals through further training.

Pathways
Basic vocational education and training (= apprenticeship) is the most common form of vocational training for young people in Switzerland. It is a mixture of theory and professional practice. The professional qualification is recognised throughout Switzerland.
The apprenticeship is exciting and varied, as it combines school and work practice. During the training, the apprentices already receive an income.
Young people can choose from around 230 professions. You choose an apprenticeship on your own.
After completing the apprenticeship, there are a wide range of further training opportunities at colleges of higher education, private institutions and universities of applied sciences.
